Bottom Line Up Front: Mainstream progressive and radical/revolutionary groups for the past month have focused on developing “Resistance 2.0” efforts for the incoming Trump administration. Communist Party USA (CPUSA) is one that recently outlined a strategy for 2025 and said they plan to expand resistance efforts early next year.

CPUSA’s action plan is a good summation of similar efforts across the country:

  • Protect nonprofits from a bill that would enable the Treasury Department to revoke nonprofit status (presumably for left wing nonprofits that engage in political activity)

  • Remove Cuba from the “terrorist list”

  • Block weapons shipments to Israel

  • Defend illegal aliens from deportation by establishing Neighborhood Defense Committees and Rapid Response Networks (read more in the Analyst Comment)

  • Support sanctuary cities, organize to pass legislation to create more sanctuary cities, and work with cities that resist deportation and immigration enforcement efforts

  • Build coalitions with like-minded organization to act in unison/solidarity

  • Work with attorneys to bring lawsuits intended to get an injunction or otherwise disrupt or stop various Trump policies

  • Defend birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment

  • Educate the general public on the value and economic contributions of illegal aliens
